Ear infections are common ailments among children. An ear infection affects the middle ear and can either be a bacterial or viral infection. Symptoms include pain inside of the ear (if your child is pulling at his or her ear, this could signify ear pain), fever, discharge from the ear, balance problems and difficulty hearing. If your child is experiencing these symptoms, we can provide effective relief.

Hearing Problems

If you suspect your child may have hearing problems, our audiologist can provide a hearing exam in our soundproof booth. Your child may simply have an ear infection, and may suffer from hearing loss. Tonsillitis is usually caused by a virus or bacterial infection, and therefore goes away on its own or with the help of an antibiotic. If your child has a sinus infection, he or she may have yellow-green nasal discharge, pain and pressure around the face and upper jaw, post-nasal drip resulting in a sore throat, or cold-like symptoms lasting for over two weeks. Generally, an antibiotic or a nasal spray will provide the needed relief.
